This past week has absolutely flown by for us. After getting back from Disney, it was time to refocus and get back to work. We met as a team to get together and talk about the rest of the season, and what its going to take for us to accomplish what we know we are capable of.

That night we headed out to the Liberty Bell Track to hammer out a great workout! It gave the team a renewed sense of confidence and drive to get after the training from here on out. With everything we are doing we are focusing on the upcoming “Championship Season” and how we can best prepare our minds and bodies for it.

On Thursday, we were fortunate enough to have a couple former runners, Terrence Gadsden and Brad Parker, to come watch our afternoon session. Its always great to hear from guys who made it through the program and what they remember about the experience. All the guys, well at least myself, loved running in the rain for our workout that afternoon.  (I’m sure Coach didn’t enjoy the cold though)

Come Saturday we had a group of guys go and race at the Trailblazer Invitational. Out of the 6 guys who ran there for us Grindstaff, Richardson and Lawler all set new personal records for an 8 kilometer race. It was a great showing for our team. While those guys were tearing up the Trailblazer, the rest of us were flying through a 6 kilometer tempo run. Most of the guys surprised themselves by running close to, or even faster, than what their PR’s were in high school for 5 kilometer races. In a workout now!

Hope all is well, and enjoy the week.
