An ongoing battle with east Tennessee’s weather has proved to be a frustrating point in this past week’s schedule for us soccer boys. After coming off a disappointing loss to the University of Cumberlands last Saturday, we were very eager to get back to work on the practice field and into our winning ways.

We have had a tough practice schedule since there have not been any games this week. I feel that we are continuing to improve on the field and we are growing as a team. The team spirit and atmosphere has been excellent. As a senior captain, it’s been really impressive how the squad has stayed focus and still shown 100% determination to finish our season very strong.

We were scheduled to play Lincoln memorial University, a nationally ranked NCAA Division II school, this past Wednesday but unfortunately the game was cancelled due to rain.

Saturday’s game against Reinhardt is a huge contest for us. Reinhardt is currently undefeated in the AAC. After the tie between Union and Montreat, us BUFFS were delighted that our destiny of winning the AAC conference title had been put back into our own hands. Since Wednesday, we know the situation of what we have to do to win the conference. The moral around the squad is high right now because we know we need to win our next three AAC games and bring the title back to Milligan College.

Regarding the team, we have been practicing at the indoor facility for the past few days, which is about a 2 mile drive from our campus. We are very privileged to have that facility available to us. Currently, we are concentrating on tomorrow’s game and are staying very focused on what our jobs are individually. We are very blessed to have the teammates we do and we are preparing as a team in a professional manner this is vital for us because of how much we want to win the championship.

We’re still keeping Pete Waller, our freshman teammate from North Carolina, in our prayers for a fast recovery from a knee surgery which took place last week.

Hope everyone is well, and a BIG shout out to all our supporters from America, England, Cameroon, Nepal, Jamaica, Kenya, and Tobago.

Until next time, GO BUFFS!!!
