Disney, wow, what a trip! Everyone who got to go really enjoyed getting that second fall break (we left on Thursday morning for a four day weekend). We were all pleasantly surprised to see a charter bus ready to take us to Florida. Better yet, we had the most entertaining bus driver, Ray. We loaded the bus and were on our way down to Disney World! After watching a couple movies and catching up on some much needed rest along the way we stopped in Walterboro, South Carolina for Thursday night.

On Friday afternoon we finally reached Disney World, and the excitement ran high as we did our pre-race routine. One of the high school teams there came up to us and asked, “Please tell me you’re not in our race, are you?” The relief on their faces was priceless when we told them no. That night we pretty much shut down the local Olive Garden with all the unlimited pasta bowls, salads, and breadsticks we went through.

Waking up Saturday morning, everyone was focused on running a great race. Looking back on the race, the times did not correlate to the effort, but welcome to running, right? We didn’t dwell on it for too long though. We cooled down and loaded up the bus to go to Saint Augustine beach! The weather couldn’t have been better; and there were six and seven foot waves to body surf. I won our annual beach race, and it felt great to hand Coach his first ever loss.

Sunday morning ended the trip perfectly with a sunrise run along the beach before returning back to good ol’ Milligan.

I hope you enjoy the week,

Aaron Wood
